Upgraded Chrysler 300C Now More Enhanced

The award-winning car that continues to make everything else on the road seem ordinary has received minor changes to the rear fascia and tail lamps, with the sedan now sporting a rear deck lid featuring an SRT-inspired integrated spoiler and high-mounted stop light. The dramatic nose and the classic long-bonnet, short-deck styling remain unchanged.

The stylist of the big American 4-door sedan was also behind the Chrysler Charger, the much-admired sporty fastback that became a legend on Australian and New Zealand roads and racetracks in the 1970s.

More than 30 years ago Bob Hubbach was sent Down-Under to help Chrysler launch a locally made competitor to Holden and Ford. The exciting two-door coupe Charger took everyone by surprise and with a high performance HEMI engine amongst the options under the bonnet, the car became an overnight sensation, and has now become a valuable collector's item.

In addition to the Jeep Cherokee, which has been produced in China for many years, Chrysler is to begin manufacturing its Voyager people mover and the Chrysler 300C by late 2006 in China too. The Voyager will be built at a DaimlerChrysler operation in Fuzhou in South East China and the 300C in the capital Beijing.

Chrysler 300C Steals The V8 Limelight

The appearance of the black and silver Chrysler at the start of racing and during crash stoppages prompted a flood of phone calls over the following days to the DaimlerChrysler office in Auckland from people wanting to know more about the car.

The 300C is being used as the safety car at all the V8 supercar rounds during 2005, making it a perfect prelude to the introduction of the big Chrysler in both Australia and New Zealand later this year.
