New Chrysler Pricing Announced

Reductions of up to 16% will take effect from today (Tuesday August 7) as a result of the strength of the New Zealand dollar and a new competitive programme being introduced to cement the growth of the Chrysler Group brands in this market.

Two of the biggest beneficiaries of the programme are two new products just released to market. The new Jeep Patriot and new Dodge Avenger are being introduced with eye-catching prices to match their striking good looks, with the Patriot priced from $34,990 and the Avenger starting at $33,990.

At the other end of the scale, the flagship Chrysler 300C now starts from $58,990 and the impressive 6.1-Litre Chrysler 300C SRT8 now comes in at under $80,000 – its new price is $77,990, down from $82,990. And for a strictly limited time the 300C Touring station wagon models will also reduce further than their newly repositioned price to sell for the same as the sedan models.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, equipped with a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, featuring fuel-saving MDS technology that turns off four cylinders when the vehicle is cruising, also benefits from a significant reduction to under $70,000. Its new price is $69,990, down from $78,990. There are equally enticing changes across the rest of the Grand Cherokee range.

The recently introduced Chrysler Sebring Limited mid-size luxury sedan falls to a very attractive $39,990 from $42,990, whilst the Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4-litre comes in under $30,000 for the first time ever, with a new starting price of $29,990.

The Dodge Caliber is another beneficiary of the new pricing programme, with a revised entry price of $28,990, matching the keen pricing of the new Avenger and the recently introduced Dodge Nitro, which was introduced in June priced from $43,990. These three models now form a powerful line-up for Dodge at very competitive prices.

Tuesday August 7 marks the first official day under new ownership for the Chrysler Group. DaimlerChrysler has sold an 81% majority stake to Cerberus Capital Management of the United States. The company is promoting itself as The New Chrysler, highlighting the new era with an updated version of its historic Pentastar logo, which will be used as the new corporate emblem.

Chrysler Group, which includes the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicle brands, plus the Mopar performance and parts brand, had sales of more than 2.7million worldwide in 2006 and its sales outside the US have been growing at a record pace.
